Let me tell you a little “about us”.
Has it ever occurred to you that there are several different things people could do with their time besides attending a church service on Sunday Mornings? It has to me. Often!
However, there is a very good reason for people to gather together and “do church”.
The reason why we exist is because we believe this passage of Scripture is true:
2 Corinthians 5:18-20
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.
If this is true, and we believe wholeheartedly that it is, it means that God has chosen to use us, His children, to spread the message of hope and forgiveness found through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
What an honor and what a privilege to be given such a noble and eternally important task!
There are many other benefits to belonging to a church such as; fellowship with other people, a sense of belonging, building relationships, and having a place to serve. But what distinguishes a church from any other organized group of people should be the fact that God has given the local church a message to spread, and a mission to fulfill. We at Grace Bible Church of Phoenix are fully committed to these!
